Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. It was an okay birthday weekend -- not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. Saturday I spent on the bike.

No. Really. 11.5 hours gone, 8.5 hours in the saddle, and 420 miles. I'm talking all day long. And the funny part is we (there were three other bikes with me) were just going to PA for some burgers. Our esteemed leader (NOT me!) got us lost by about 70 miles. With his fancy-schmancy GPS thingy. We finally made it to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. We were all starving by then and quickly ate so we could get back. While they may indeed have the world's largest burgers I wasn't really impressed with mine. It was kind of dry and overcooked.

No, I didn't get the 15 lb one.

After sleeping for 13 hours on Sunday, I spent the early afternoon groaning and complaining from the couch, much to my wife's amusement. I finally managed to work up enough energy to get dressed and head out to see Invincible. It was actually a pretty good movie, but then I've always thought Marky Mark was underrated as an actor. Plus I'm a big sucker for inspirational stories.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do cower whenever I see a Tony Robbins infomercial. The 90's were a media nightmare for me, let me tell you.

Monday, my actual birthday, I spent unplugged as it were. I barely turned on my laptop. My loverly wife, [livejournal.com profile] cellymcfae, decorated the bathroom mirror, the television, and my truck with "Happy Birthday" banners before she left for her first day at her new job. You have to realize that means she was doing that at 5:00 AM. That's love right there. Thank you again, honey. *smooch*

As for my haul, I got a couple Harley t-shirts (which made me very happy) and the DVDs for Jack of all Trades and The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.. Go me! Really the only thing missing besides cake (not on our current diet) were a variety of boobs. Sadly, the finances didn't allow for a Native Folk Dancing trip.

Edited to add: When I got home this afternoon, my haul increased by 3 DVDs thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ilostonjeopardy and [livejournal.com profile] bonkoif. Rock on!

So all in all it was a pretty good weekend and I managed to pass into the last year of my 30's with very little fanfare. Of course that just means that next year we're going to have to Blow The Roof Off This Mutha!
