- Move upslope to avoid mudflows and falling debris.

Volcanic fumes (like carbon dioxide) do not have a strong odor and are often denser than air, so they collect near the ground. - Since volcanic ash can quickly clog the radiator and engine of your car, avoid driving except to evacuate.
