Batchelorhood
Jul. 3rd, 2007 09:00 amWell, my batchelor weekend is over. It was pretty good although I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I wanted. Friday night I rented some movies and sat on the couch eating chips and dip (something I haven't done in about 9 months.) I ended up not going to bed until around 4:00 AM just because I could. After about 6 hours of sleep I dragged myself out of bed and went to the DMV to get new plates for the motorcycle. WV redesigned motorcycle plates and they have to be displayed by July 1st.
When I got home from the DMV I decided to go ahead and mow the lawn with the thought that I might go see Live Free or Die Hard later that afternoon. It was hotter out than I originally thought and as I was wearing a tank top I ended up burning my shoulders. When I was done with the lawn I came in to lay down a relax for a bit. Yeah, right. I woke up 4 hours later.
Since I'm a cheap bastard, I decided against a night-time movie. I briefly toyed with the idea of going down to The Club but frugality made me balk at the $40 entrance fee. So, I went out for some dinner, rented some more movies and then sat on my ass with some totally decadent ice cream.
Yeah, yeah, I know. I went totally off the reservation with my eating this weekend. But I figured A) I deserved a treat and B)... um, there is no "B". So there.
Sunday morning I cooked some food for my lunches this week.
keltique came over in the afternoon and we went for a long ride exploring the backroads of WV. Well, not all of WV. We actually were never more than 10 miles from the house. That's just one of the reasons I love living here, there are so many nice roads to ride within minutes of our Stepford suburban development.
I went to bed at a more reaonable hour Sunday night. I've blown off going to the gym for the last two mornings though. It's all a part of my mini-vacation. Thursday I'll get back to pumping.
Weights, ya pervs.
Traffic has been really light this week. I'm still in the midst of testing for our upgrade from Lotus 6 to Lotus 7. So far everything's working perfectly in the test environment. I don't know when we'll actually start upgrading production but we're doing everything we can to make sure it goes smoothly.
cellymcfae has expressed in interest in going to Berkeley Springs so tomorrow we're going to take the motorcycle out there. We don't have any other plans so we'll just walk around the town and then take a leisurely ride back. We'll watch fireworks from the hill in back of our house (on Saturday night I could see four different fireworks shows!) and then get to bed as early as possible.
The excitement is overwhelming, isn't it?
