macdobhran: Whoop Ass (Worst Case)
Frances Slocum was reunited with her brother Isaac on this day in 1837, having been abducted by Delaware Indians almost 60 years before. The Indians attacked her home when her father was away, pillaging the house and taking five-year-old Frances with them. She was raised by the Indians and integrated into their society, and she married one of their chiefs. However, her brothers never stopped looking for her, and when her brother Joseph read a letter about her in a Lancaster, Pennsylvania newspaper, he and Isaac vowed to see if this was truly their sister. After being reunited with her brother, Frances lived out her remaining years with her Indian family and died in 1847.
