I haven't posted much about this subject lately. That's cause I've been a huge pile o' slackass. I haven't been working out steadily for the last couple of months. Combine that with quitting smoking and I've noticed that I'm starting to gain some weight.

So this morning it was up-and-at-'em at oh-dark-thirty so I could get into the gym at a decent time. I worked out for about 45 minutes and then took a shower. After my shower I approached the scale with trepidation. And like a spurned lover it bitchslapped me with a clue-by-four.

319 lbs.

DAMNIT! ::deep cleansing breath:: Owwmmm...

Okay, I can deal with this. I slacked and this is the price. I've decided that I'm not going to rent or buy a tux (not even a cheap one off eBay) for NYE. I'm using the lust lure of a new suit/tuxedo as my goal. That will also help with the shopping as most suits have a 4" - 6" drop and I currently have a 12" drop*.

In anticipation of some new wardrobe items, I tried on all of my dress shirts last night while the Peanut Gallery (i.e. [livejournal.com profile] cellymcfae) sat on the bed and offered helpful comments. Well, if you count "Woo-hoo! Naked man!" as helpful. Most of my dress shirts fit (surprisingly!) and these are shirts I haven't really worn in years. A couple of them that I was going to get rid of [livejournal.com profile] cellymcfae claimed for herself. The rest went into the wash so that I can actually start to wear them.

I'm still thinking about buying the Purple Pimp Suit though, cause you never know when it might come in handy.

* - FYI: The "drop" in a suit is the difference between the jacket size and the pants size. Ex: I wear a 54" jacket and a 42" pants.
