Mar. 28th, 2006 09:33 pmWell, I haven't made a post of any significance in quite some time so without further ado...
Saturday
cellymcfae got up gawd-awful early for a weekend and headed down to NC for a Girls Weekend with her mom, sister and some friends. So of course this meant that I had to get up too. (Not really, I could have slept in more but I had gone to bed fairly early the night before.) She said she drove through some snow on the way. It wasn't sticking to the road she said but there was about an inch and a half on the grass.
Here in West-by-God-Virginia though, it was sunny and almost warm. Warm enough that I could wash the accumulated filth off of Reaver (the Harley). I got him all shiny and sparkly in the hopes of riding later in the day. Then I watched a little HGTV, grilled a couple sausages, and had a little nap on the couch.
Originally I had three different things to do Saturday evening. 1) a wine-tasting party, 2) an event at The Club, and 3) dinner and karaoke. I wanted to do all three and it literally took me until Friday night to hatch a plan. I ended up not doing either one of the first two because 1) I don't really drink wine and I planned on being on two wheels, and 2) I thought The Club event started at 5:00 PM but it was actually 7:30 PM.
So I opted for an evening of sweet karaoke. And it's a good thing I did, lemme tell ya. I hopped on the bike and headed towards Baltimore. Unfortunately the weather decided that it was only teasing about Spring and it got cold quick. I had to stop three times in order to get the feeling back in my fingers. But I eventually made it to my destination.
sweetpea86 and
barwench23235 were there already. Once I got the feeling back into my fingers, we headed off to dinner at the Double-T.
After entirely too much food, too many laughs and one ass-muffin, we headed over to Jetty & Bake's to meet up with the Nexus of Fun (North). I had already met
reggiemental and
xcommunicate1 (although they were both pretty drunk at the time and I don't think they remembered me) at MDRF last year.
fairefifi was new to me but well worth the drive. Mmmm... YUMmy! Eventually
hthottie and
kurakaishowed up for a little while. There was much singing and mocking of mullets and it was good. We left the bar before midnight but
sweetpea86,
barwench23235 and I stayed up telling tales until 2:00 AM.
Sunday
We got up late on Sunday and after a quick Clean Sweep conference about
sweetpea86's bedroom,
barwench23235,
sweetpea86 and I headed back to the Double-T for brunch with the Nexus (North). There was entirely too much fun to recount here and eventually, as with all good things, it had to end.
sweetpea86 took me back to her house so I could get my bike. Before I left though, I installed her Sirrus satelite radio in her car. That took me about an hour but it finally worked. The ride home wasn't as cold as the day before and I was home well before dark.
Monday
I went to work like normal but left a little early. You see, I had to be home in the evening to accept delivery of our new bed. They arrived about a half hour after I did and took less time than that to set it up. You can bet your ass that as soon as they left, I was sprawled out across that comfy, plush top mattress. Awwww... yeah! It's a Simmons Beautyrest with the patented individually packed coil system and is much thicker than the mattress we had before. We also moved up from a queen to a king size. Comfort and more room. West Virginia actually is almost Heaven!
