Queer Eye shams
Feb. 27th, 2006 09:14 amSo this weekend we had the Clanlad with us. As we were driving home from his school Friday night, we were listening to XM radio (as is our wont to do) and the Clanlad was flipping through the stations (as is his wont. Me? I'm pick a station and stay with it but he's a flipper. I blame video games.) Anyway, he lands on 20 on 20 and I recognize the voice of the DJ. I tell him that I know her through
snarkymarcy and
bonkoif. He was actually visibly impressed by that. If only we'd heard one of
snarkymarcy's bumpers.
No, that's not a boob reference. You can close your mail clients.
Saturday after breakfast, we threw the football around for a little bit since the weather was tolerable. Then I did a couple things around the house and took a nap. (Hey, it's my weekend. Hush.) On Sunday, I did a little painting on the fireplace mantel while
cellymcfae was at church. Then we started tackling the mess that is our basement. We managed to organize some things and start a "Yard Sale" pile for the Spring. What we really need is a whole lotta shelves but those will have to wait until we have the money.
After the organizing frenzy, it was once again... nap time! (Hush, I say.) Debbie, the Clanlad's mother, came to pick him up at the end of my snore-fest. That's because
cellymcfae had to wake me up when she got there so I could say goodbye to the lad. After they left and we discovered the pathetic lack of Sunday evening programming (When the hell is Deadwood going to start up again?? Cocksuckers. Heh.) I went out to get a couple of videos. I got Must Love Dogs and Flightplan.
We both really liked Must Love Dogs. Partly because it's a good, if formulaic, story and partly because we both had nice eye candy. (Ooooo... Diane Lane. So hawt!) Although my Queer Eye kept getting distracted by her home decor.
Me: Omigod! Did you see that fireplace? And I really like those throw pillows. They pull the walls and fireplace into the room.
Celly: You are so gay.
I wasn't as impressed by Flightplan though. It was way too predictable and it looked like Jodi Foster just phoned in her performance.
Plus there was a disturbing lack of throw pillows.
